“Being Black in America” is The Gathering’s next storytelling evening, happening the evening of Thursday, September 22.

The program starts 7 p.m. in the Hall at Bethany Presbyterian Church; doors open at 6:30 p.m. for free refreshments.
The event takes place in the Hall at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 5625 24th Street, Sacramento, CA 95822.
Hear Bethany’s own members Jim Carter (retired supervisor, Sacramento Public Library) and Barbara Greene (retired teacher, Sacramento City Unified School District) as two of the speakers. Our other two storytellers are:
-Ginger Rutland, Capital Public Radio journalist and former Sacramento Bee Associate Editor and TV reporter
-Rev. Asbury P. Jones, Public Relations Manager for the Nutrition Education & Obesity Prevention Branch of the California Department of Public Health and former Executive Director of the Spencer W. Perkins Fellowship program
This event is free! A donations basket will be available for your contributions (food items or $) to the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet.
